The partnership between the bladesmith Johan Gustafsson and watchmaker Patrik Sjögren aims to provide truly unique watches with inspiration from the cold north of Scandinavia.

GoS proudly presents Blizzard and Aurora, two new designs based on an dramatic explosion Damascus steel pattern. Both dials are etched to enrich the contrasts but while the Blizzard is uncolored, the dial of Aurora has been given a lustrous green-orange color to resemble northern lights, Aurora Borealis. Traditional Lappish techniques has been used to make the reindeer strap of Aurora, which leather has been naturally tanned without any chemicals.

The watches are equipped with a beautifully finished Unitas/ETA 6498 pocket watch movement. The finishing has been done by the swiss company Soprod, that also have further improved the movement to chronometre grade standard with a screwed balance.

I posted this video a couple weeks ago, but had forgotten to announce it here. So I’m linking it now. This is to supplement the Wilson Watch Works Navigator Watch Review that I wrote previously. I also believe that its called an Observer Dial not a Navigator dial, and since Wilson Watch Works doesn’t name their watches, I had to kind of make up a name. Nevertheless, it is a very solid, well-made watch using great materials.

I hope you enjoy the video if you haven’t already:

I just received a press release from Gustafsson & Sjogren, or GoS, a watch company whom I’ve reveiwed before. They have released a new customized watch called “Ice”. If you recall, their watches were of interest to me because of their use of Damascus in the production.

The partnership between the bladesmith Johan Gustafsson and watchmaker Patrik Sjögren aims to provide truly unique watches with inspiration from the cold north of Scandinavia.

GoS proudly presents Ice – a customized watch designed in collaboration with the customer, who requested a clean Damascus steel look. The watch is based on a large round case with a combination of different finishing techniques with large diameter bezel and case back as unusual design elements. Etching gives additional contrasts to the wood grain pattern Damascus steel dial. All index positions have gold fitted diamonds and the Damascus stainless steel crown has a spectacular diamond inset.

The watch is equipped with a beautifully finished Unitas/ETA 6498 pocket watch movement. The finishing has been done by the swiss company Soprod, that also have further improved the movement to chronometre grade standard with a screwed balance.

I’ve tried to compile the list here. Some of them are just solid gold limited editions of existing models which I haven’t bothered to list here. Database entries are incomplete and I will fill them up as the information becomes available.

Breitling Airwolf Raven – This model is the same as previous Airwolf with the addition of a Rubber bezel and rubber inserts on the pushpeices.

Breitling Skyracer Raven – Like the Airwolf Raven, this one is the same as previous Skyracers, with the addition of the Rubber Bezel and pushpeice inserts.

Breitling Colt GMT 2 – Brand new Colt GMT for the season! Integrated Professional 2 bracelet.

Breitling Chronomat B01 – This one needs no introduction… the brand new Chronomat with the B01 caliber in-house movement!

Chrono-matic 1461 – This appears to be a large 49mm Chrono-matic with the 1461 jours movement. This model is in gold.

Chrono-matic QP – This also looks to be a 49mm model as well, in gold with the QP full perpetual movement.

Breitling for Bentley 6.75 Speed – This looks very similar to the previous 6.75 with the addition of Chrome accenting around the subdials.

Breitling for Bentley Motors Speed – Like the 6.75 Speed, this looks very similar to the previous Motors with the addition of Chrome accenting around the subdials. I have seen photos of what appears to be a Motors T Speed as well.
