Watch Reviews

This is a video review of the Hamilton Jazzmaster Chrono. Such as great value as far as Swiss Watches go, the Hamilton offers a Valjoux 7750 movement, Swiss Made construction, and a beautiful case and bracelet, along with a Leather Deployant for around $1200 with a street price of around $850. Doesn’t get much better than that!

The Hamilton has a very classy dial, and open caseback so you can see the movement in action. Case is a healthy 42mm in diameter, and wears slightly larger than it’s size would suggest in my opinion. Take a look!

I’ve posted a new Breitling video review, and this one is of the intricate Breitling Montbrillant Datora. The slightly larger Navitimer has a very complex dial with a full calendar complication. Beautifully executed watch, in a larger 43mm diameter. This is probably one my favourite Navitimers along with the World. Sometimes you want one smaller, but not too small. The Datora really fits the bill.

The Panerai fakes out there are getting better and better, and unlike most of the other fakes, the movements are very well decorated. They may not have the same level of precision, but they look pretty darn convincing unless you know what to look for. I’ve pointed out a few of the inconsistencies that I saw, so remember… stay educated and don’t get duped.

This PAM 111 belongs to a friend of mine, and though I don’t condone the buying of fakes, I do not shun my friends that do. I take the opportunity to borrow them and help educate!

This is a video review of my Zenith Defy Classic Power Reserve watch. I love this watch, and didn’t realize that I would really love it as much as I do. Looking through all the Defy series of watches from Zenith, the majority of them looked very cool, but perhaps too cool. The Defy Extreme series of watches look amazing, but they also looked like a sophisticated analog version of a Casio G-shock at the same time, which takes away from the class.

The Defy classic lines are just crazy enough, without being off the charts, and look fantastic. I think the 43mm size of the Defy Classic Power Reserve is perfect, and with the added power reserve complication it is a nice touch. The Zenith Elite movement is also very nicely done and has the unique ability to move the date forwards as well as backwards. Enjoy the review!

Breitling’s legendary SuperOcean in Chronograph configuration, with the unique white dial/blue subdial configuration finally gets a video. The Chrono SuperOcean is a very fine watch, with a very serviceable 42mm size, thick chunky styling, and reliable Breitling Caliber 13 movement. This bad boy has a nice look and cool features like the screwdown pushers, and 500m water resistance. The Professional II bracelet is a nice improvement over the previous Professional Bracelet, albeit slightly (just slightly) less comfortable. Enjoy.
