Check out the two new Breitlings introduced at Baselworld, The Super Ocean Heritage and the Flying B No.3. The SuperOcean Heritage is much more Omega Seamaster looking than current Rider-tabbed Breitlings… not really my taste, but i really like the Flying B… but prefer the jump hour version myself.

IWC is set to launch a new watch in a few weeks at SIHH in Geneva. It will be using an in-house IWC designed Movement, the Cal. 89360. It will be a beautiful and very large 43mm wide Tonneau shaped case, available in Platinum, Rose Gold, White Gold and Stainless Steel.

I’ve always been a fan of IWC, especially of their Aquatimer, GST and Portugese Lines. These is a fairly radical style for IWC, but looks very nice. Hopefully it is a popular model for them.

Winding the watch and setting the hour and minutes are effected using a winding stem in the form of a movable “winch” that links directly to one of the small “capstans” that are found at the four exterior angles of the case: at the upper left, it acts directly on the fusee and, by the intermediary of the chain, allows the barrel to be wound; at the upper right, it acts on the minute cylinder which is connected to that of the hours. The two other small “capstans” are only there for decoration.

This site has a REALLY cool set of documentries that interviews each different person that goes into the making of a Swiss Horological Masterpeice (Swiss watch). It is very cool.. in some foreign language but it is translated for us English speakers. Talks about the Enamelling, Guilloche, watchmaking, strap making, glass making, case making.. EVERYTHING!!

There are two new models being unveiled midway through the 2007 model year… the Breitling for Bentley Flying B Chrono and the Aeromarine Avenger Skyland.

Release date is unconfirmed as of yet, but these two watches will be out some time this year. Base movements and Caliber is unconfirmed as well. The Avenger Skyland is a Stainless watch built on the Avenger platform and should be a really nice one.
