The Girard-Perregaux Sea Hawk, a staple in the world of Dive Watches, was recently given a facelift, and now is launching in ceramic as well. Just released at Basel 2013, this iconic dive watch from GP will now be available in a sleek, black ceramic case. The Chrono Hawk, the non-diver variant of the Hawk will also be available in ceramic, and features the same sleek case but has a chronograph function with no dive bezel.

A few new models from everyone’s favourite German Tool Watch company, Sinn. I particularly like the two Mission Timers, more so the 45mm EZM14, due to the size. Interestingly, the 41mm EZM15, has a deeper water resistance down to 2000m, double what the EZM14 has. The Sinn T1 EZM 14 is probably my favourite new watch to come out of the Sinn shop in quite a few years. Be sure to visit the Sinn site links to see multiple angles of all the watches.

Bell & Ross has a new collection out this year at Basel, and while I initially didn’t think much of it, they have started to grow on me. In the past I’ve kind of filed Bell & Ross in the back of my mind as a one-trick pony, producing only one cool model: the cult-followed instrument watches, of which I own one. However, their other models just haven’t created the same passion for me.

The Falcon is much more understated, and has a ultra-curved sapphire crystal, almost like the hesalite crystals on the Omega Moon Watch. The dials are super simple, and have a Panerai-esque styling to them. They’ll be released in a regular Black edition and a limited edition in Brown, with a see-through caseback that is etched with “50 Years of Passion and Innovation”.

A new, more complicated watch from Oris one of the great values in Luxury Swiss Mechanical watches. The ProDiver Pointer Moon is the World’s First Mechanical Watch to Indicate Both the Lunar Cycle and the Tidal Range. The watch is developed in cooperation with Oris brand ambassador and commercial diver Roman Frischknecht.

The large Titanium case measures 49mm, with a Ceramic bezel inlay. The watch is water resistant to 1000m, and features a helium escape valve. The movement is an Oris Caliber 761, base movement Selitta SW220. The watch comes with a presentation case with all sorts of bells and whistles and tools to swap between the titanium bracelet and rubber strap.

Zenith has expanded their Pilot Montre d’Aéronef (Which is French for “onboard watch”) line at Baselworld 2013 this year with five new models. Very cool pieces from Zenith that give Pilot watch fans another choice for a top tier Pilot Chronograph outside of the IWC and Glashutte Original Pilot watches. I particularly like how Zenith has done the lugs on these watches… I really want to pick up one of these as they are my favourite Pilot Watches out right now.

I particularly like the 48mm GMT model. My kind of watch.
