Breitling continues the stream of Limited Edition watches with the Blackbird Red Strike. I suppose this watch is made to compliment the Code Yellow Avenger that was released earlier this year.
The Blackbird Red Strike is limited to 2000 pieces and has all the same dimensions and features that the standard Blackbird does, including the faceted bracelet. The Red Strike, however, is available fully polished from head to toe as well as brushed and will feature very cool Red highlighting on the matte black dial.

what does a breitling ‘veteran’ such as yourself think of this piece?

@Kyle – I like the idea, similar to the Code Yellow, but in the photos at least the Red doesn’t seem to blend well with the Greenish hue of the Lume and the Red date kind of bugs me.
I really like the idea of accent colors to make subtle statements, but I think this Blackbird Red Strike is not cutting it for me in the photographs. I’ll reserve final judgement until I see one in person, however.
For reference, I do like the regular Blackbird a lot.

That looks pretty sweet, except…
I dunno how I feel about the date being in red also. Is the date a different color on the Code Yellow?
::checks::
No, it’s the normal white date wheel. That red date looks very odd to me. The hands on the subdials and center seconds are red; that looks good. But making the date red is like making the numbers on the subdials red. I don’t like that.

I own the watch and I can tell they look much better in reality then on the photo. When I look at the photo I am like “Oh is it realy the watch that I am wearing?” the colors are not captured very well the lume is not that green as it appears on the picture and the dial is not black it is very dark blue.

I just picked mine up a couple of days ago, I ordered it prior to seeing on in person. I was worried the red date would be too much also.
In real life the watch looks great. For some reason the picture removes the effect of the crystal and chrono second hand and focuses on the face.
The red is the same color as the ‘tachymetere’ in the standard black bird. all in all this watch looks great.
