Breitling Chronomat Evolution Fake/Replica Analysis
Posted by The Breitling Source under Breitling , General Posts[24] Comments
Here’s a video analysis of a fake Breitling Chronomat Evolution that I did. This is a very convincing fake Chronomat Evolution. I tried to go over the inconsistancies of the fake, but it is very convincing. Without a fair bit of time spent with a real one most people would get duped by this copy.
I probably should have done a side by side of a real one just to compare but I hadn’t thought of it, but I no longer have this fake Breitling Chronomat Evo in my posession. Hope this helps, guys!

I don’t suppose you could tell me what site this replica came from?! It is amazing. Thanks for the review.

Sorry this watch does not belong to me, it was borrowed from a friend.

I’ve been very seriously looking for an Evolution on the web. Your scary video tells me that i can be easily fooled by a fake. Do you know of any web based sellers that sell genuine Evolutions? I’ve looked at the watchery.com, jomashop.com and authenticwacthes.com. Do you know if these companies truly sell the real thing? If you can’t mention a specific company, what do you suggest that i do to make sure that I buy only the real thing from a web based discounter? Thanks, B. Dirnsa

Most of the reputable online retailers are okay. The last two you mentioned are good in my books.. check out the forum for more info: http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=7

Thanks for the video. Quite informative. Looks like they did an incredible job of faking it. Much harder to spot than the fake MontBlanc I recently aquired (and sent back, now we’re in a CC dispute).

You talk on the video about the Date font being one of the ways to tell this replica – but you fail to identify what is the problem – How do I know if I have a replica Breitling Evolution
May 19th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Its very hard to describe how the font is different. Compare it to a real one from a dealer. If you already have the Chronomat bring it to a dealer – they will be able to tell you.

I am looking for a replica to replace my real Evo on a daily basis. Can you please recommend a good source?

Sorry guys, I would never recommend a replica, nor do I know where you would purchase a good one from.

To B. Dirnsa and Breitling Source:
I believe that Breitling specifically will not have their dealers sell online so I would be very wary of buying a Breitling on the Web.
August 15th, 2009 at 11:46 pm
Paul, It is common knowledge that Breitling does not allow their dealers to sell online. This is evident and explained every single time one visits the Breitling website.
However, that does not mean that it is not very easy to find a reputable dealer selling genuine Breitlings online.
Breitling uses somewhat misleading stats to discourage online purchasing of their watches.
However, I still encourage purchasing from an AD if possible.. unless your AD is only offering you a scant 5-10% discount.

I just got a britling chrono?evo from goshortcut.com off ebay
it looks perfect, but th underside of the clasp IS NOT polished, also on underside of clasp i can see the stamp of the wings through the clasp..the outline sort of..but onlt that..not the name on other side or date through mtal..im worried after watching yr review.
u stated it sould be polished 100% face and underside of clap , and see NO imprint at all
September 20th, 2009 at 12:20 am
Some clasps have visible imprint.. the fakes just have it even more so.

February 3rd, 2010 at 5:17 pm
Hi everyone, yes Ive been looking online and seen Goshortcut.com advertising a number of Breitlings, Cartiers etc, their feedback is all 100%, There is a telephone number going back to New York, Im also curious if anyone else has had dealings with them? and how did the transaction go?
Mike, my advice is take your Breitling to an Authorised dealer, ask them to check it!
(I would advise telling them you bought an unwanted gift from someone, just to cover yourself)

July 7th, 2010 at 3:14 pm
Hi iv got a diamond breiting from Goshortcut it seems to be real and the service was fantastic I have taken it to gold smiths and they looked at it and adjusted it for me so every thing looks fine however as it is so hard to tell I will send it to goldsmiths and for 50 quid they send it away and check for sure. If it turns out to be 100% it will be the best deal ever.

To: Diamond Breitling buyer from Goshortcut.
Any word back from your gold smith? I contacted Goshortcut regarding getting confirmation on the watch being authentic Breitling Evolution, used, condition, confirmation on diamonds etc. They contacted me back to get a phone number which I have given. I’m not about to buy without EVERYTHING in writing regarding authenticity and diamond grading. I will post how my phone call goes…

Buyer’s Beware!!! – GOSHORTCUT NIGHTMARE
Dealing with GoShortcut has turned out to be a huge regret of mine. I bought 2 watches form them (a Breitling and a Tag Heuer) on November 8th 2011 and did not receive them until the middle of January 2012 (even though I was told I would have them on my wrist in a week…LIE #1). Communication and customer service before I sent payment was good, it wasn’t until I received the watches that I had one of the worst buying experiences of my life. Lou and GoShortCut claim:
NO ADDITIONAL TAXES / CUSTOMS / DUTIES-YOU PAY WHAT YOU WIN IT FOR-WE HANDLE THE ADDITIONAL POTENTIAL FEES
This was anything but the case. After Lou (my salesperson), instructed me to lie to customs to make the package go through easier (from US to Canada) and I told him I wasn’t comfortable doing so the troubles began. They do not pay the customs, duties, or potential fees as I am currently out almost $900 without a recent peep from Lou or GoShortCut. GoShortCut’s gimmick is to tell, sorry LIE, to customs that the watches are being sent back for repairs and that the buyer (me in this case) did not actually purchase the watches from them. Lou instructed me to tell customs about 3-5 different lies in which every case I said no and that I was not comfortable doing so, as I am not a liar.
Lou and GoShortCut are currently under investigation and on a shipping alert into Canada so be careful. I also have not verified the watches to be authentic yet and I am worried because the diamond bezel already fell off the Breitling, the date adjustor does not work, and the marker over the 12’oclock symbol does not align with the rest of the watch ( I have only had watch for 2 weeks). BUYERS BEWARE! This firm has proven to be a liar, not backing up their company policy, and now refuse to give me back the customs, fees, and duty charges that I had to pay and will not even communicate with me. I rate these guys a 0 out of 10. Do not trust their ebay ratings as being accurate. I now have a broken watch, that seems not authentic, and have zero support from my retailer. I was blown away with how Lou and GoShortCut dealt with this manner. They claimed that it was a fluke and not their fault, but rather mine for not lying to customs (Can you believe it!). The officer said at customs that they are on their list of shady retailers and will not have so much luck sneaking products into Canada in the future.
Buy at your own risk from these guys. Hope this helps someone avoid the experience I had.

In response to all the nonsense written by some users in this blog. I have been a client of goshortcut for over 10 years and my friends and I have bought a bunch of breitling, cartier, audemars piguet…..etc and have always received top of the line service and quality every time. As you can see by goshortcut’s feedback, they have sold over 1,500 high end watches and have no negative feedback at all. Initially I was just coming on this site to finally leave a positive comment on goshortcut, as I just learned of breitlingsource.com. But when I saw all the negative things written-I just had to respond to them. Probably the competition of goshortcut, that are getting destroyed to not being able to compete with them. Anyway, I will always buy all my watches and jewelery from goshortcut and so should you-never hesitate-you will not be disappointed.
